🔔Rise of the Soft Fake? The shift from deep fakes to 'soft fakes' highlights how emotional connections can drive voter behaviour - and this 2024 'The Year of AI Elections' with some 1 Billion People set to vote....
🔹So at #qlikconnect it was excellent to see US Science Envoy Dr. Rumman Chowdhury and the new Qlik AI Council dive into the area of Deepfakes, Distrust and Disinformation including how AI impacts Elections 🔹
🔸So what does a soft fake do? This is the use of deepfake videos and images to soften a candidates image and make them seem more relatable, accessible, funny, likeable and appealing in non native languages 🔸
🔹Really interestingly, the AI Council at Qlik Connect highlighted that even when voters realize that a video/image is fake but it makes you laugh - voters will still like the candidate more. Soft Fakes are being used to emotionally influence voters' choices
